Two 7th graders in Fife, Washington stop their school bus after their driver loses consciousness. They manage to steer the bus to the side of the road and call for help. It’s all caught on tape.
Take a look at the video. It seems like a normal bus ride and then student Jeremy Wuitschick realizes there is something wrong with their driver. He immediately takes the wheel.
A second student, Johnny Wood, comes over to help.
On the Fife School District Facebook page this statement:
“We are bursting at the seams with pride over our two student heroes Jeremy Wuitschick and Johnny Wood! They handled an emergency situation on their bus this morning with amazing calm and great maturity. Kudos to you – and the rest of the bus – for making us all proud!”
The bus driver reportedly suffered a heart attack. On their school’s Facebook page more praise for their actions:
Our thoughts and prayers are with our bus driver and his family members as we celebrate the acts of heroism and the quick thinking by the students on bus #29 this morning. I am so proud of every one of our students on that bus as they experienced a very difficult situation and also fulfilled their obligations as students throughout the day. This is a true testament of our kids being exceptional people and reaching out to help those in need. It is also indicative of the incredible parents that exist in our community.

None of the kids on the bus was hurt. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital where he was reportedly in serious condition.
The heroes have been inundated with calls from the media.
What these boys did was pretty amazing. Job well done!
